The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest

Stieg Larsson

This is the third book in the “Millennium Trilogy”,
and should be read after “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”
and “The Girl Who Played with Fire”.
All three books are a riveting read, combining crime, espionage
and a rollicking great story of a most unlikely heroine.
Not to be missed.
Definitely a 5 STAR great read!

WINTER IN MADRID

C.J. SANSOM

Part thriller, part romance and part historical novel, this book gives an enthralling account of life in Madrid, and in Spain during the 1940s.  A most unlikely spy, working for the British Embassy tries to come to terms with the poverty of the poor, the political manoeuvring to keep Franco from entering the war on the side of Hitler, his various loves and friendships, and his personal trauma suffered at Dunkirk.

THE GLASS LAKE
 MAEVE BINCHY

Not a recent novel by Maeve Binchy, this compelling book mixes the usual warm Irish country town tale with enough twists and romance to keep the reader spellbound during a long summer day by the pool.

It is an easy read, but nevertheless this fascinating story of a family losing their mother and building their lives again, is a beautifully written account of rural, Catholic Ireland.  A great story to relax with.
